The delegation led by Raffaele Grossi visited the Oncology Center

The delegation led by Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Armenia, visited the National Oncology Center named after VA Fanarjyan. The guests, who arrived in Armenia on a two-day visit, toured the center with the Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan, got acquainted with the large-scale works carried out, the new equipment, the wide range of services provided, and also visited the newly built Palliative Service clinic, which will be opened on October 8.

During the meeting, they discussed the cooperation held in 2024-2025. They noted that active steps are being taken toward creating an educational center in the National Center of Oncology-Armenia. Currently, there is no academic and clinical certified educational program for training some critical specialists in the field of radiation oncology in Armenia.

The center's establishment will provide an opportunity to satisfy qualified specialists in the field of radiation oncology shortly, as well as create a factual basis for the NCOA to become a regional training center in the field of radiation medicine.
