"On September 13-14, the Azerbaijanis managed to enter the positions where the Armenian soldiers stood until the end and died. The Azerbaijanis killed our wounded and tortured the bodies of medical workers. "There are bodies of Armenian soldiers on the hill of Upper Shorzha, but the Azerbaijanis do not allow the bodies to be taken out," he noted.
The deputy head of the General Staff also noted that Azerbaijan had captured several combat positions in the direction of Vardenis; the most significant territorial loss, however, is in Jermuk.
"We cannot say they had a serious territorial advance here; they managed to capture several combat positions. If these positions are not so important from a tactical point of view, they are important from a strategic point of view. They directly depend on our settlements; from there, they can control the roads to a certain extent, psychologically oppress the nearby villages with their presence," he said.
According to Martikyan, there is no fear of a new attack. Still, the Armenian Armed Forces are always waiting for further provocations because Azerbaijan will try to solve the problem in its favor.
