The Fraser Institute published the "2022 Annual Report on World Economic Freedom", in which Armenia ranked 11th, which is the highest result ever given to Armenia by the institute. Armenia's rating was 7.84 points out of 10 possible.

The report is based on the annual indicators of 2020 and covers 165 countries worldwide. The Index of Economic Freedom measures the degree of economic freedom of countries by analyzing several indicators and including 5 main areas, such as the economic foundations of government decision-making, the legal system and property rights, the reliability of the national currency, and resistance to inflation, the level of freedom in international trade, labor and issues related to business regulation.

According to the 2022 annual report, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Switzerland are the leading countries in the economic freedom index, with 8.59, 8.48, and 8.37 points, respectively. It is noteworthy that, in general, due to 2020, the restrictions applied due to the pandemic, the indicators of the world's countries have decreased.

In 2016, RA was in 40th place, the following year - 39th, in 2018 - 19th, and 2019 - 17th.
