Any expenditure aimed at improving the quality of education is justified
Minister of Education of the Republic of Armenia Vahram Dumanyan referred to the government's reforms in the field of education and stated that the idea of the academic city is in the experimental stage.
According to the minister. "Yes, the idea of the academic city is already entering the experimental stage; options are being discussed not to unite the existing universities but to create new ones based on the existing ones. They will not be mechanical associations; there will be a clear substantive approach. I look positively at the idea."
According to Dumanyan, any expenditure to improve education quality is justified. According to him, the idea is to have universities and infrastructures by international standards, which can be realized in the city of Ashtarak.
Regarding the future fate of the YSU building, the minister mentioned. "Be sure; the Yerevan State University building will remain the YSU building. There could be a training course or some administrative corps... there was no other discussion; it resulted from some people's sick imaginations. I have never heard such a thing from serious people.''
