Cooperation in the field of IT can become a symbol of Armenian-Japanese cooperation

Avet Poghosyan, RA Deputy Minister of High-tech Industry, received the delegation led by Japanese Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Yoshida Hiroshi. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Armenia Fukushima Masanori also participated in the meeting.

Avet Poghosyan welcomed the guests and presented the directions, priorities, and implemented programs of the Ministry of Education and Culture. The deputy minister emphasized Japan's rich experience in space technologies, which may have new prospects for cooperation between the two countries.

Japanese Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Yoshida Hiroshi thanked for the reception, noting that this year marks the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Japan and Armenia. The latter expressed hope that, apart from the cooperation implemented in several fields, cooperation in the high-tech sector can also develop between the two countries.

Ambassador Fukushima Masanori noted that he recently visited several specialized centers and was very impressed by the quality of technical education in Armenia. According to the ambassador, Armenia and Japan have particular IT development areas. If it is possible to combine the strengths of both countries, an excellent opportunity for cooperation will be created. The IT field can become a symbol of Armenian-Japanese cooperation.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of interaction in the direction of using the latest technologies in several turns. There was also a reference to the 19th annual online meeting of the Science and Technology in Society Forum (STS Forum) to be held in Japan on October 2-4, in which RA Minister of High-Tech Industry Robert Khachatryan will participate.
