The solemn opening ceremony of the international large-scale strategic command and staff exercise "East-2022" was held in one of the military training centers in the Far Eastern Federal Region of the Russian Federation. 14 states, including units of the RA Armed Forces, are participating in the exercise.
Welcoming the heads of the delegations and service members of the participating countries, the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, emphasized the importance of holding similar large-scale joint military exercises in the fight against the existing challenges.
Wishing success to all the participants of the assessment, the commander of the Armenian military group, Colonel Sasun Badasyan, also expressed his confidence that the exercise will be held at a high level and the units of the armed forces of the participating countries will achieve the harmonious implementation of the tasks with joint efforts.
In general, about 50,000 soldiers, and 5,000 units of weapons and military equipment, including 140 units of aviation and 60 warships, are involved in the "Arevelk-2022" military exercise. The exercises will continue until September 7.
