Former Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan, a member of the "Civil Contract" party board, referred to the draft law prohibiting fireworks.
During the discussion organized at the initiative of Sisak Gabrielyan, the chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth, and Sports Affairs, Avinyan stated that the meaning of that law is that it is not possible to organize such fireworks at private events that would disturb the entire population of the neighborhood.
According to him: "In any civilized city in the world, I have not seen fireworks every day in restaurants for private events. With all due respect to the person born on that day, the population living in the surrounding areas have nothing to do with the mentioned event or occasion.”
Avinyan noted that the head of the community should be given the authority to decide whether or not the fireworks should be used at that event. "As for the liability sector, we go through a strict licensing process. Licensed companies are not expected to be many, and the imported product will be registered. If there are fireworks in the restaurant, the licensed companies sold the fireworks to the wrong people or smuggled them in."
