Lori Provincial Administration reported that residents of Dsegh, Debed, Yeghegnut, Vahagn, Vahagnadzor, Pambak, and Vanadzor settlements of the Lori region, as well as the beneficiaries of Dsegh health and COAF-SMART centers, will travel by new and modern bus.
Thanks to the project, an inter-community transport connection was created for 7 settlements on the Dsegh-Vanadzor route. The new bus was handed over to the Pambak community hall at the COAF-SMART center. The Deputy Governor of Lori Hovhannes Avetisyan, Advisor to the Governor of Lori Tigran Hovsepyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Armenia Fukushima Masanori, Director of COAF-SMART Center Koryun Khachatryan, all, were present.
Lori Deputy Governor Hovhannes Avetisyan thanked the initiators and implementers of the project, noting that the new public transport will provide comfortable services for the residents using the route above, will allow the residents of the villages to access new markets, and will move people with disabilities affordable.
At the end of the event, the guests took a new bus from the SMART center to the Debeti administrative building, where the bus was handed over to "Pambak" JSC.
It should be noted that to improve the public transport network of the Lori region, the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Children of Armenia Charitable Foundation (KOAF), and the Embassy of Japan signed an agreement in March for the implementation of the grant program "Bus provision for public transport in Lori region."
Under the signed agreement, the Embassy of Japan provided more than 90,000 US dollars to purchase a new bus adapted for people with disabilities, expand the transport network and improve infrastructure.
