The deputy minister highlighted the importance of providing access to quality educational services in Syunik marz

Within the framework of the August consultations, the regular discussion took place in the Syunik marz, which was conducted by the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan.

Syunik Marz Deputy Governor Hayk Harutyunyan, Head of General Education Department of MESS Arsen Baghdasaryan, Acting Director of NCEDI Artashes Torosyan, NCET Director Artak Poghosyan, Head of Education, Culture and Sports Department of Governor's Office Mary Gandalyan, directors of general education and pre-school educational institutions of Syunik State, directors of Governor's Office, Ministry, and officials of municipal governments.

On behalf of the Ministry, Deputy Minister of Education and Culture, Zhanna Andreasyan, congratulated the participants of the meeting on the occasion of the start of the new academic year and thanked them for their work. "There is a lot to do. There are many challenges facing the country, and in this regard, the role of each representative of the education system and the quality of their work become even more important."

Zhanna Andreasyan referred to several novelties of the educational system, presenting clarifications regarding the legislative and administrative changes, the new academic standards being tested, the certification process of the directors of educational institutions being held for the first time, the changes in the order of financing schools, etc.

"One of our emphasis and important issues in Syunik state is the provision of access to quality educational services," noted Zhanna Andresayan.

She also informed that this year the process of voluntary certification of teachers would be organized in the states, in the exam centers formed for this purpose by the State Technical Committee.

Deputy governor Hayk Harutyunyan welcomed the attendees and thanked them for completing the last academic year, as it was the first academic year that had a regular course after the pandemic and the war.

"Regardless of the created situation, we were able to carry out the educational processes in the right direction, the proof of which is the results of the summarized year," said Hayk Harutyunyan, thanking the deputy minister for the educational reforms.

Mary Gandalyan, the head of the governor's office's education, culture, and sports department, presented Syunik's educational, cultural, and sports successes last year, the system's achievements, and recorded results.

In the 2020-2021 season, the region had 15 medalists, and 463 graduates were admitted to the university, 105 free of charge. According to preliminary data, 1550 students will attend the first grade in Syunik this year.

The head of the department thanked the principals, teachers, and students of the schools that showed high results in subject Olympiads and scientific and sports competitions in the 2021-2022 school year.

During the consultation, the heads of various divisions of the Ministry and state organizations of the educational sector spoke about separate educational and organizational topics.

At the end of the meeting, Zhanna Andreasyan and the Ministry of Education and Culture representatives answered the attendees' questions.
