On August 28, at 7 p.m., while conducting an inspection tour, Yeghegnadzor community police discovered the fact of electrocution of fish from the Yeghegis River flowing through the area called Vanki Dzor of Shatin village. There were two people, one of them a 39-year-old resident of Shatin village, the other a 28-year-old resident of Gyumri.
A criminal proceeding was initiated in the Vayots Dzor Marz Investigation Department, within which 17 fish, one electric battery, two fishing nets, and an electric current converter were found during the inspection of the scene. The men said that they caught the fish themselves using electrocution.
The preliminary investigation clarifies the circumstances.
