Edward Asryan and Valery Gerasimov discussed issues related to regional security
On August 26, Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces, Major General Edward Asryan, met with the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, 1st Deputy Minister of Defense, Army General Valery Gerasimov, within the scope of his working visit to the Russian Federation. RA Ministry of Defense informs about this.
Valery Gerasimov congratulated Edward Asryan on his appointment as the Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces. He wished him effective and fruitful work for the benefit of the Republic of Armenia. The Chief of the RA Armed Forces General Staff presented to his Russian counterpart the recent developments on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, the recorded results in Artsakh, and the current situation.
Several issues related to the Armenian-Russian military cooperation were discussed during the meeting. Reference was made to the modernization of the RA armed forces and the course of reforms. Matters about regional security were also discussed.
