Representatives of the human rights defender monitored the military units and hospitals in the Gegharkunik state. The primary purpose of the visit was to study issues related to increasing discipline in the army, preventing deaths in temperate conditions, and finding out the causes.
The defender's representatives had private talks with the soldiers and officers, recorded the existing problems on the spot, and discussed with the commanding staff the possible options for their solution. The condition of the military units' medical service, the soldiers' living conditions, and the food quality was also studied.
The results of the visits are summarized in the defender's staff, due to which corresponding letters will be addressed to the competent departments.
