It is known how many participants of the gathering were detained and why

Radar Armenia sent a written request to the RA police to find out the reason for detaining the participants of the authorized assembly in Yerevan's Azatutyan Square on August 24, 2022, and what violations those persons committed.

In response to the inquiry, the RA police informed that on August 24, 22 participants of the action were brought to the police from Azatutyan Square for the act provided for by Article 182 of the Criminal Code.

Failure to comply with the legal requirement of service members or police officers is considered an act in Article 182 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.

"Failure to comply with the legal requirement of a serviceman or police officer while maintaining public order and ensuring public safety results in the imposition of a fine in the amount of 50 times the established minimum salary," is stated in the Civil Code.

On August 25, RA HRD Kristinne Grigoryan demanded clarifications from the police regarding the arrest of the participants of the authorized assembly in Yerevan's Azatutyan Square on August 24, 2022. In this context, the representatives of the Office of the Human Rights Defender visited the relevant police department to ensure the protection of the rights of the arrested persons.
