"Space Talks" for children from Team Telecom Armenia and STARMUS

Ahead of the STARMUS festival, Team Telecom Armenia held the "Space Conversations" event at the Planetarium in Yerevan, giving school-aged children the opportunity to meet Garik Israelyan, an astrophysicist and the founder of the STARMUS festival.

Emphasizing the cooperation with the festival, the commercial director of Team Telecom Armenia company Karen Shaboyan noted: "We joined STARMUS to support the development of science, technology, and art directions. Considering that the main participants of this festival are adults, we decided to organize such a special event for children and arouse their interest in science and space.

During the event, more than 80 children listened to Garik Israelyan's speech on "Life in Space," asked all the questions they were interested in, and watched the film "From Earth to Space" about our solar system, planets, and satellites. At the end of the event, the "Space" group members held a contest; the winners  received a gift from ISS: The book  "Man's house in space,"

"I am thrilled when I see children in the observatory because thanks to them, they later come to astronomy; the stars excite little ones, make them want to ask questions, and have enigmatic feelings about the universe. Yes, the Armenian equivalent of the Planetarium is the Observatory. Starmus is like an observatory; our goal is also to inspire. I want the children to be here often, to participate in such events, and to be carried away by the idea of discovering something new," said Garik Israelyan.

STARMUS VI will take place on September 5-10. The program of the festival includes a series of seminars and conferences, multi-disciplinary cultural events, and scientific camps, such as the concerts of the world-famous jazz pianist Tigran Hamasyan, the co-founder of the Queen band, musician, astrophysicist, and photographer Dr. Brian May, the STARMUS camp in Azatutyan Square, the School of Astrophotography, etc.
