RA local and international roads will not be closed during transit from Azerbaijan to Nakhichevan. NSS

The National Security Service informs that the news circulating in the mass media and social platforms that in the case of a possible transit trip by motor vehicle through the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Autonomous Republic of Nakhichevan and vice versa the roads of local and international importance in the Republic of Armenia will be closed during transit, that will hinder the free movement of Armenian residents does not correspond to reality. RA NSS informs about this.

It is noted that the draft of the government decision "To make additions to the decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia No. 703 of May 12, 2011" put into circulation by the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia envisages the opening of 3 new checkpoints, which will provide an opportunity for transit from the Republic of Azerbaijan by road transport to go to the Autonomous Republic of Nakhichevan. Currently, possible transit routes and procedures are being developed. No local and international (interstate) road closures and other restrictions are planned for the movement of the Armenian population and foreigners and their vehicles.
