On August 12, around 21:00, the citizen who called 911 reported that his mother had committed suicide in the apartment of one of the buildings on Komitas Avenue.
The operative group of the police and the investigators who went to the scene of the incident found the body of 55-year-old Ruzanna Vardanyan, who lives on a rental basis, in the said apartment. The woman's body found in the kitchen had scratches and a rope around her neck.
As a result of extensive measures and investigative actions undertaken by the officers of the Yerevan Police Department and the Arabkir Department, it was found that the woman was killed by her 17-year-old son. He was arrested and brought to the investigative unit.
Examinations were appointed.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated.
All the circumstances of the incident are being clarified.
