What a rare phenomenon awaits in the Universe

At the end of the year, a rare phenomenon will be observed in the sky: for the first time since 2019, three planets - Venus, Mars, and Mercury - will appear in the immediate vicinity of the Sun, creating a unique “solar parade”.

The Russian Institute of Cosmonautics reports that Venus has already approached the Sun. It is even visible in images of solar coronagraphs. On December 4, Mars also reached the same position. According to scientists, on December 19, the two planets will approach the Sun by only 5-6 degrees, and by the end of the year, the distance between them will decrease to 2-3 degrees.

And on Christmas Eve, on January 6, the Sun, Venus, and Mars will converge into a single point in the sky, resembling the “Star of Bethlehem”. This phenomenon will be observed again only in September 2038.
