Archaeologists have announced that they have conclusive evidence that people deliberately dug the huge pits found near Stonehenge more than 4,000 years ago.
The area of these “megapits” discovered in the Darrington area is about a mile wide and consists of about 20 giant pits. Their excavation required great perseverance and engineering feats for the time.
