The Eta Cassiopeiae binary star system, located 19 light-years away, could be an interesting target for searching for signs of life. No giant planets have been detected in the system, meaning that small, Earth-sized planets could orbit in stable orbits in the habitable zone of their primary star.
This system consists of two stars that orbit a common center every 472 years. The outer regions are almost empty, as the gravitational pull of the second star throws out distant planets.
Scientists believe that there may be habitable planets here, which are worth studying with future powerful observatories, such as the Extremely Large Telescope.
Although it is not sure that life exists here, the system offers interesting opportunities to discover minor, Earth-sized planets.
