Where was a 4,500-year-old monument discovered?

A group of amateur archaeologists in Manchester, England, has discovered what they believe is an “important” Bronze Age site on a farm dating back about 4,500 years.

The Wigan Archaeological Society says they have discovered the remains of an ancient burial ground on land in the village of Aspool, which may date back even further.

Archaeologists have been excavating the site since 2022, with the farmer’s permission. They say there are “many different theories” about the ancient site. It could have been a place where precious jewelry materials were mined.
