A massive fire is still raging in a Hong Kong apartment complex, killing at least 55 people and leaving nearly 300 missing.
Police said the cause of the blaze could have been “gross negligence” by a construction company that used unsafe materials. The last four burning towers were reported to be under control, while the other three were extinguished. Firefighters are still working at the scene. The compact complex, located in the northern Tai Po district, has 2,000 apartments, housing more than 4,600 people in a city with a chronic shortage of affordable housing.
