This week, a spectacular full moon lit up the night sky around the world. The moon appeared larger and brighter than usual, reaching its closest point in its orbit to Earth.

The full moon is sometimes called the hunter’s moon because it is the first full moon in October. The name comes from ancient times, when people prepared for winter by hunting and preserving meat. It is also called the harvest moon, in memory of when farmers used the moonlight to harvest their crops in the evening.

Radar Armenia presents a photo series showing how this unique celestial phenomenon shone from different angles.
