It was announced today that Pope Francis has died. He was 88 years old.
The pontiff was discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment a month ago, on March 23. The day before his death, on Sunday, Francis congratulated Catholics on Easter from the balcony of St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican.
