Reuters reports that two strong earthquakes have struck central Myanmar (Burma). The quake was also felt in neighboring Thailand's capital, Bangkok.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported a magnitude of 7.7 quake followed by a powerful aftershock of magnitude 6.4.
The epicenter of the quake was about 17.2 kilometers from Mandalay, Burma's second-largest city, with a population of about 1.5 million.
