The Armenian dram is 30 years old.
30 years ago, on November 22, 1993, the national currency of Armenia, the dram, was put into circulation. Bank notes of the 1993 model of the Central Bank with denominations of 10, 25, 50, 100, 200, and 500 drams are means of payment. Banknotes of the first sample of post-Soviet Armenia were printed in the German company "Giesecke & Devrient."
The coins have been in circulation since 1994. Coins of the new sample, from 2003-2004, with the value of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, and 500 drams In 1998–2015, new model banknotes were printed and used.
