Political scientist Edgar Arakelyan is the guest of the "Radar Chat" program at the Radar Armenia booth. He referred to the developments around Artsakh and Armenia and discussed the influence of the events in Russia on the Stepanakert-Baku dialogue and peace treaty negotiations.
According to him, the recent events in Russia convinced Aliyev and Erdogan that it is not forward-looking to connect plans with the Russian side regarding Artsakh, "And Erdogan's support for Putin was a moral support, a moral gesture."
Regarding the negotiations to settle Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, Arakelyan noted that the processes taking place on the Western platform give Artsakh a particular subjectivity. He adds that Artsakh should formulate its solution options, "The Artsakh conflict is not a territorial dispute between Armenia and Azerbaijan, but a problem of security and rights of Artsakh Armenians. With a direct dialogue between Stepanakert and Baku, it is possible to negotiate and achieve the de facto sovereignty of Artsakh," says political scientist Edgar Arakelyan.
