"40 buses will enter the route in Yerevan on April 15-16, and 110 from May 1," Hayk Sargsyan (VIDEO)

Hayk Sargsyan, the acting head of the transport department of the Yerevan Municipality, is the guest of the "Radar Chat" program at the Radar Armenia booth. He referred to Yerevan's transport problems and presented details of the works carried out in this direction.

"Newly imported buses will start operating on our routes from April 15.

On April 15-16, about 40 buses will be planned to enter the routes, and from May 1 - another 110, all buses will be operated on the routes step by step. Hopefully, by the end of the year, all minibusses will leave the routes as planned. It is designed to solve Yerevan's transport problem by the end of the year. Yerevan solves the problem by 80-90%.

After the amendment of the law, tenders will be announced for private companies that will participate in passenger transportation. After the final route network is implemented, how many private companies will serve the route will be known.

From tomorrow, 12-meter "MAN" buses will enter the route and connect Ajapnyak, Arabkir, and Kanaker-Zeytun.

In May-June, we will switch to separate bus lanes on several streets.

Seventy-seven bus stops have been installed in Ajapnyak. Currently, negotiations on the installation of "smart bus stops" are underway. There will be "smart stops" in the districts where the geographical location allows.

The design competitions were held on time. The agreement already exists. We are ready to start today, but it is impossible to do the marking work due to the weather.

The drivers will continue to work with the same schedule, but a change in the program is being considered.

The 15 trolleybuses purchased with the first bid were supposed to be in Yerevan in March, but they have been at the Lars checkpoint for over 20 days. Problems have arisen with the importing organization. According to yesterday's data, the trolleybuses will be in Yerevan in 10 days," said Sargsyan.
