The Turkish side is restoring the Alijan checkpoint; let me say no more. Rubinyan

Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Ruben Rubinyan spoke about the prospects for establishing Armenian-Turkish relations.

He recalled that in 2022, an agreement was reached between the Republic of Armenia and Turkey to open the border to third countries and to people holding diplomatic passports. "Let me not say anything else now, I will say it when the time comes. I will only say that it is public: the Turkish side has said that it is restoring the Alijan checkpoint," he noted, adding that experience shows that in such cases it is better to have something before talking about it.

Referring to Turkey's statements linking the Armenian-Azerbaijani and Armenian-Turkish processes, he said, "The processes of normalization of the RA-Turkey and RA-Azerbaijani relations are different, but since we are in the same region, they can interact with each other, and we believe that progress in the RA-Turkey normalization process will not only not harm the RA-Azerbaijani process, but will also help and give a new impetus. In addition, we cannot help but notice that there is tremendous progress in the Armenia-Azerbaijan process: the August 8 declaration on peace, the at least partial lifting of the railway blockade, and, in general, the processes are moving in a positive direction. We are already seeing some results; we will see some results."
