The regular political consultations between the foreign ministries of Armenia and Italy were held in Rome, with Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy Edmondo Cirielli in attendance.
During the consultations, the positive dynamics of bilateral relations over recent years were discussed, emphasizing the significant role of high-level contacts in promoting constructive political dialogue and further strengthening and expanding economic cooperation.
A wide range of bilateral agenda issues were discussed. The parties emphasized the importance of implementing joint measures across several areas, in particular to increase bilateral trade turnover, promote investment, and develop cooperation in high technologies, tourism, education, culture, and other fields.
The interlocutors also discussed the strategic agenda of the Armenia-EU partnership, as well as the preparatory work for the 8th Summit of the European Political Community and the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), to be held in Armenia in 2026.
Deputy Minister Vahan Kostanyan presented the developments in the South Caucasus after August 8, 2025. Among other things, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia referred to the adoption of the Armenia-US Implementation Framework for the “Trump Path to International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP) project during the meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, and the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on January 13 of this year.
