It is dishonest to call Trump's path a "corridor", especially considering what alternative Armenia had and what proposal was previously presented by Russia. The primary concern raised in public discussions was related to border crossings, passports, and customs controls. In an interview with Radar Armenia, political scientist Areg Kochinyan, president of the Armenian Council research center, said:
"The document came to testify that there is a passport, border, and customs control. This control is entirely under the jurisdiction of the relevant bodies of Armenia. And it is simply impossible to compare this with the Russian proposal in any way," he said.
According to the political scientist, Trump's path offers a clear advantage for Azerbaijani citizens and Azerbaijani cargo in establishing a connection with their enclaves through southern Armenia. However, calling it a corridor, especially an extraterritorial corridor, is simply ridiculous.
