Iranian protests benefit neither the region nor Armenia. Iranologist (VIDEO)

Reza Pahlavi, who now lives in the United States and whose father was overthrown during the 1979 Islamic Revolution, has called on Iranians to “take to the streets and shout their demands with a united front.” Protests have been raging in Iran for several days now. There have been casualties in the clashes.

According to Radar Armenia’s interlocutor, Iranologist Zhanna Vardanyan, the demonstrations that began on December 28 have gained momentum in the last 3 days.

“In addition, if in the first 10 days they were proceeding at the same pace and covered mainly the same areas, then in the last three days the geography of the demonstrations has expanded,” she said.

According to her, these demonstrations testify to the dissatisfaction of various layers of Iranian society. The Iranologist noted that although the demonstrations began over the devaluation of the rial, they have already turned into political, anti-government actions.
