Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced at a government session that the 2025 budget was overfulfilled.

According to him, since 2018, all possible restrictions on economic activity have been eliminated.

“We have eliminated monopolies, prohibitions and brakes, and this is the main reason that since 2018, despite all political, regional, and geopolitical upheavals, the Republic of Armenia has not only maintained macroeconomic stability, but also ensured a more than 2.4-fold increase in per capita GDP,” the Prime Minister said, recalling that all this took place in the conditions of the global and, naturally, Armenian recession caused by COVID.

The Prime Minister also emphasized that, in the Republic of Armenia, both the political and economic systems are democratic. “I must emphasize that this practically means that the government did not intervene where it should not intervene; on the other hand, it intervened inappropriately where it should not.”

He emphasized that cases of non-intervention are widely known, as are instances of intervention. “We can cite the most famous examples of intervention: the example of ZCMC, the example of ENA. And I want to emphasize again that the government did not intervene to the point where not intervening would be inaction and irresponsibility,” Pashinyan said.
