Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has provided details of the deal to import gasoline from Azerbaijan.
"During the meeting of deputy prime ministers, the Azerbaijani deputy prime minister expressed Azerbaijan's readiness to sell petroleum products.
The Armenian government, having studied the field, has told businesspeople, who, in our opinion, will not be inclined to turn it into a political campaign, that, for example, the government is forcing us to buy gasoline from Azerbaijan, and we are not buying… that there is such an opportunity. And companies from both sides have established contact," he said.
According to the prime minister, a boycott was demonstrated during the first batch. "There were networks that refused to sell that gasoline, which means that our initial concerns and fears were correct."
He also noted: "Now I think it will be clear to everyone that the market and the opportunity are open to everyone, and whoever wants to can take advantage of it."
As for the possibility of trading other products, the prime minister said, "There are now processes where Armenia and Azerbaijan are exchanging lists of potential products, what they are interested in selling and buying. The process is ongoing. When there is news, you will know. I know that there are preliminary product lists that have been exchanged, and the study process is still ongoing."
