We recorded significant achievements in Iran-Armenia relations in 2025: Ambassador
The newly appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia, Khalil Shirgholami, sent a New Year's message.
I congratulate the friendly and brotherly people and government of Armenia on the advent of the New Year. 2026 will be a year of prosperity, peace, and outstanding achievements for Armenia.
In the last days of 2025, I arrived in Yerevan with great hope in my heart as the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia, hoping for great goals in deepening the friendship and partnership between the two noble peoples of Iran and Armenia, as well as on the path to achieving a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
In 2025, we achieved significant progress in Iran-Armenia relations. The historic visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Pezeshkian, to Yerevan and the agreements reached on further developing cooperation were the culmination of these achievements.
In 2026, building on the constructive path of the past and the will of the leaders of the two countries, we will move toward implementing a comprehensive strategic partnership between Iran and Armenia. We will get to know each other better than before and foster interaction between people from the two countries. We will define new initiatives and programs to advance the partnership between the two countries and introduce "institutionalization of friendship" as a key concept on the agenda.
The Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes a prosperous, developed, and powerful Armenia that is at peace and in good relations with all its neighbors and is ready to play its role within this framework.
I greatly appreciate the warm welcome that the government and people of Armenia extended to me on the eve of 2026. Happy New Year.
