One of the oldest and most famous local newspapers in Igdir, Yeşil Iğdır, writes that preparatory work has begun for the opening of the Alican (Margara) crossing point on the Armenian-Turkish border.
It is reported that infrastructure renovation and construction work are underway in the area.
The importance of the possible opening of the border for regional trade and relations is noted.
The newspaper also writes that the Alican crossing point connecting the Armenian and Turkish borders is planned to be opened first for cargo transport via the Margara Bridge and later for passenger transport.
