The meeting between the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, and the Federal Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Friedrich Merz, took place in Berlin.
During the meeting, the parties reaffirmed the long-standing friendly and partnership relations between Armenia and Germany, emphasizing their readiness to deepen cooperation further, based on mutual trust, shared values, and interests.
Prime Minister Pashinyan and Federal Chancellor Merz highlighted the recent increase in trade turnover and expressed hope that it will continue to grow at a more dynamic and progressive pace.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the strategic agenda of the Armenia-EU partnership, emphasizing the importance of developing political dialogue, strengthening security cooperation, combating cyber threats and disinformation, and deepening economic, cultural, and scientific collaboration.
The German side welcomed the strengthening of Armenia’s ties with the European Union and the broader family of democratic states.
Federal Chancellor Merz highlighted recent positive developments in the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan as an essential step toward establishing lasting peace in the region. It was emphasized that their successful progress and the full normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkey would open new opportunities for a peaceful and prosperous South Caucasus.
Discussions focused on bilateral cooperation, regional security challenges, and the agenda for the future.
