On December 5, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, received the Minister of State for Defense of the United Kingdom, Lord Vernon Rodney Coker, and the first British Resident Defense Attaché in Armenia, Major Thomas Shorland Ball, at the administrative complex of the Ministry of Defense.
The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to the United Kingdom, Varuzhan Nersesyan, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to Armenia, Alexandra Cole.
Issues related to Armenia-United Kingdom defense sector cooperation were discussed during the meeting.
The parties assessed the current level of cooperation positively and expressed their willingness to develop it further. Both sides emphasized the importance of appointing resident attaches in the Republic of Armenia and the United Kingdom, noting that this step will further expand defense-sector cooperation between the two countries.
Several issues related to international and regional security were also discussed.
