On December 4, within the framework of the OSCE Ministerial Conference, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Péter Szijjártó.

The ministers discussed a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda, noting the recent positive dynamics. In this context, the establishment of embassies in the capitals of the two countries was stressed with mutual satisfaction.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Péter Szijjártó emphasized the importance of ongoing efforts to implement agreements aimed at expanding bilateral and RA-EU partnerships. In this context, the mutual willingness to implement specific programs through the existing EU toolbox was emphasized.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Hungary also discussed humanitarian issues, including the program in Hungary for refugee children and their accompanying family members.

The interlocutors also touched upon issues of cooperation in multilateral formats.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on international developments. In the regional context, Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the importance of the agreements reached in Washington in August. Reference was made to efforts to strengthen peace further.
