Several high-ranking officials have visited Georgia in recent days.
In an interview with Radar Armenia, Georgian expert and Orbeli Center researcher Johnny Melikyan noted that the 2024 declaration of strategic relations between Armenia and Georgia has influenced active political dialogue. "These relations imply regular meetings of leaders, especially taking into account changes in the regional situation and external agreements," Melikyan said.
According to him, Georgia, as a regional state, is interested in stability and development. Through new projects, it is possible not only to generate economic income but also to achieve regional significance, ensuring that all parties have the opportunity to conduct effective negotiations.
"Georgia has already shown its support on the issues of prisoners of war and prisoners of war and played a positive role in organizing Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations, providing space for meetings," he said.
The expert agrees with the Georgian president's words that the "spirit of exemplary relations" between Armenia and Georgia can affect regional cooperation. "If the two states see a prospect in stabilizing the region, it is beneficial not only for us, but also for the entire region and international players," he said, adding that exemplary relations can serve as a basis for Armenia-Georgia-Azerbaijan trilateral cooperation, as a result of which it will be possible to implement projects, attracting foreign investments, improving the lives of citizens, and increasing the strategic importance of the region.
