The peace agreement signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington on August 8 is an essential step in ensuring lasting peace and stability, which we naturally welcome, Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili said during a joint briefing with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturian.
“This historic agreement opens up new prospects for the long-term development of the South Caucasus,” he emphasized.
According to the Georgian President, Georgia is ready to contribute to strengthening peace and stability in the region.
“I believe that our cooperation, friendship, and partnership will continue in the spirit of the exemplary relations established between our countries,” Kavelashvili said.
Kavelashvili once again thanked his counterpart for his visit to Georgia.
