Unblocking regional channels creates mutual benefits

On November 12, in Copenhagen, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with the Deputy Speaker of the Danish Parliament, Karsten Hønge, and members of the Foreign Affairs and European Affairs Committees.

During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the agenda for developing bilateral relations between Armenia and Denmark, deepening the Armenia-European Union partnership, and regional security issues.

Minister Mirzoyan highlighted the growing cooperation between the parliaments of Armenia and Denmark, including in the Armenia-Nordic-Baltic countries (NB8) format. Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized that the commitment of these countries to democracy, the rule of law, human rights protection, and good governance inspires and supports Armenia on its path of democratic reforms, as well as deepens its partnership with the EU.

The Minister mentioned the law “On the Commencement of the Process of Accession of the Republic of Armenia to the European Union,” adopted by the RA National Assembly in March 2025, which was, first and foremost, an expression of the aspirations of the citizens of the Republic of Armenia through a civic initiative.

Reflecting on the agreements reached in Washington on August 8, Mirzoyan noted that the unblocking of regional channels creates mutual benefits for both the countries of the region and beyond, contributing to the expansion of the communications network from Europe to Asia and vice versa. Ararat Mirzoyan presented the RA approach to the signing of the Agreement on Peace and Establishment of Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Humanitarian issues were touched upon. The RA Foreign Minister answered other questions of interest to the Danish parliamentarians.
