Armenia should secede from Russia and withdraw from the EAEU. Mehrabyan

The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service reported that Armenia wants to give up Russian grain at the expense of EU funds in favor of Ukraine.

"This statement contains the message "don't do anything suddenly". But a perfect option is proposed, and I would be happy if it happened," Ruben Mehrabyan, vice-chairman of the "For the Republic" party, said in an interview with Radar Armenia, adding that Armenia should not only leave, but also take similar steps in other commodity positions.

"It will break away from Russia and leave the EAEU, because trade, of course, is an activity typical of all states, but Russia's trade with Armenia is being instrumentalized and turned into a lever of political pressure against Armenia," Ruben Mehrabyan noted. According to him, Armenia must extricate itself from the situation, which comes at a price, and it must work together with the Europeans to ensure that the cost is paid.

"Russia is doing the same thing with gas, with Europe, and Europe also understood that it has a price, not just cheapness, and took those steps. The same steps are expected of Armenia, regardless of what "howls" we hear or have heard from Moscow," he added.

Referring to the statement of the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, that the Kremlin hopes to continue bilateral cooperation with Armenia, according to Mehrabyan, this is typical behavior of Russian petty criminals, which in Russian slang is called "razvodka", when two people stand together and say something that allegedly contradicts each other.

"But both of them act according to the logic of two ears on the same head. That should not impress us at all; Armenia must take that step sooner or later," he clarified.
