Mirzoyan presented Armenia's foreign policy priorities

On November 12, within the framework of his visit to Denmark, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan visited the Danish Institute for Parties and Democracy (DIPD), where he had an in-depth discussion with representatives of Danish civil society.

Minister Mirzoyan presented Armenia’s foreign policy priorities.

“Armenia is a democracy, a young one, but one with a strong commitment to the consistent promotion of democratic values ​​and the protection of human rights, and we are very interested in developing like-minded partnerships,” Minister Mirzoyan emphasized.

Ararat Mirzoyan added that civil society has significant potential and a necessary role to play in both democratic development and peacebuilding.

Continuing the topic of peace in the region, Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that the agreements reached in the trilateral declaration signed in Washington on August 8, with the participation of the US President, including the initialing of the Peace Agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, are an essential milestone, including in the direction of developing stability and connectivity in the South Caucasus and the wider region.

In this context, the Minister presented Armenia’s vision for unblocking communications, emphasizing the practical significance of the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative and its component, the “Trump Road” program.

Reference was also made to the work being done to address humanitarian issues.

During the discussion, special attention was paid to the dynamically deepening partnership and ambitious agenda between Armenia and the European Union, as well as the development of Armenia-Denmark cooperation at all levels. They exchanged views on issues of cooperation in strengthening the resilience of democracies, including the existing experience and tools in the fight against hybrid threats.

The Minister answered other questions of interest to the Danish experts.

*The Institute was established by the Danish Parliament in 2010 to contribute to the strengthening of democratic governance in developing countries by supporting political parties and multi-party systems.
