Armenia and the EU are preparing to sign a new cooperation agenda

On November 11, in Copenhagen, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Danish Minister for European Affairs Marie Bjerre. The interlocutors discussed issues of deepening the RA-EU partnership, emphasizing the importance of the new agenda to be signed in the near future, which will take this partnership to a qualitatively new level.

They touched upon the recent achievements recorded in several areas and the upcoming tasks, including visa liberalization. Minister Mirzoyan noted that the development of the RA-EU partnership aligns with the aspirations of RA citizens, as expressed in the law on the launch of the RA's accession process to the EU, adopted this year.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Marie Bjerre exchanged views on the challenges encountered on the path of democratic development and the opportunities for exchanging best practices in overcoming them. In this context, the importance of the EU's continued support for the RA's resilience, including its efforts in combating hybrid threats, was emphasized.

The ministers also discussed developing bilateral sectoral cooperation between Armenia and Denmark, including areas such as energy, transport, and trade diversification. The meeting discussed issues of cooperation in the preparatory work for the Yerevan Summit, scheduled to take place in Yerevan on May 4, 2026.

Ararat Mirzoyan presented new opportunities for the development of economic cooperation in the region and beyond, in the context of the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan as a result of the August 8 Peace Summit. In this context, they discussed the RA Government's "Crossroads of Peace" initiative and its integral part, the "TRIPP Path" project, which is entirely consistent with the EU's "Global Gateway" program.
