On November 7, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan received the delegation of the Armenia-Saudi Arabia Friendship Group, led by its head, Ali bin Muhammad Al-Shahrani.
Minister Mirzoyan noted in his speech: "It was exactly two years ago, in November 2023, when we established diplomatic relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and this was not just the establishment of formal relations. We laid the foundation for warm relations." Welcoming the visit, Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that Armenia attaches great importance to the maximum realization of the potential of cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
Ali bin Muhammad Al-Shahrani thanked Saudi Arabia for the warm hospitality shown to Armenia during this first official visit, expressing confidence that it will contribute to the development of cooperation and friendship between the two countries.
The interlocutors emphasized the mutual interest in implementing specific programs, including those in the areas of people-to-people contacts, tourism, business promotion, information technology, and other relevant fields.
The meeting exchanged views on regional developments. Minister Mirzoyan noted that the Armenian side highly appreciates Saudi Arabia's position in supporting the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
