Euronest members welcome the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the members of the Bureau of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly. The Prime Minister welcomed their visit to Armenia and the holding of the 12th plenary session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly in Yerevan. Nikol Pashinyan expressed hope that the session would be productive and highlighted the importance of active inter-parliamentary dialogue and cooperation.

The Prime Minister then touched upon the further development and deepening of Armenia-European Union relations. The Head of State noted that the Armenian Government consistently promotes democratic reforms with the assistance of the EU, including the introduction of European standards across various sectors. In this regard, the Prime Minister highlighted the continued financial, technical, and expert support from the EU.

The process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan was touched upon. Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the need to establish peace and noted that a favorable atmosphere has currently been created for the effective continuation of dialogue and discussions.

The members of the Bureau of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly welcomed Armenia’s steps towards implementing democratic reforms and deepening relations with the EU, noting that they also have close cooperation with Armenian partners in the parliamentary format. At the same time, they welcomed the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan and expressed hope that it would contribute to ensuring stability in the region and promoting cooperation.

They also touched on the steps being taken to unblock regional communication routes, the demarcation process, and other topics.
