Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has announced that about 200 km2 of Armenia’s sovereign territories are under Azerbaijani control.
According to him, there are also territories belonging to Azerbaijan recognized by international borders that are under the control of the Armenian Armed Forces. According to the minister, resolving the issue is not through military operations or liberation.
“We have said that the process of returning these territories to their legal owners should take place within the framework of the launched and ongoing demarcation and border demarcation process, as a result of that process,” he said. Mirzoyan also noted in response to a question from opposition MP Garnik Danielyan: “When the process is completed, it will not reflect each other’s legal ownership. Please come and say that we deceived you, the demarcation took place, and all this did not happen.”
