Armenian-French strategic partnership discussed in Paris

On October 23, in Paris, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with the President of the French Senate Gerard Larcher.

The meeting was attended by Cedric Perret, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, Defense and Armed Forces, Gilbert-Luc Devinaz, Chairman of the Senate’s France-Armenia Friendship Group, and Alain Cadec, Vice-Chairman of the Senate Committee on European Affairs.

The interlocutors discussed issues of developing the strategic partnership between Armenia and France, emphasizing that the dynamically developing relations cover all key areas. Future tasks were discussed.

The meeting focused on the developments in the South Caucasus. Minister Mirzoyan presented the latest developments, Armenia’s vision for the development of the region under the conditions of peace established with Azerbaijan, including the best realization of its potential to become an important communications hub.

At the end of the meeting with the President of the French Senate, Minister Mirzoyan made a note in the Senate’s “Golden Book” of honored guests.

“Having the honor of once again being hosted by the Senate of the French Republic, this house of democracy and the rule of law, I express my heartfelt gratitude to President Gérard Larcher for his warm welcome, which is a sincere reflection of the strong Armenian-French friendship.

I reiterate my deep gratitude to President Gérard Larcher, as well as to all the members of the Senate, for their constant commitment and decisive voice in favor of the exceptional Armenia-France relations.

May these exceptional relations continue to develop, for the benefit of the strategic partnership based on the common values, shared history and unwavering friendship we profess.”
