“As you know, on August 8, a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan was initialed in Washington, D.C., at the White House, and in essence, peace has been established. The “Civil Contract” faction believes that the National Assembly should officially record this fact,” said Hayk Konjoryan, head of the KP faction, at an extraordinary session of the National Assembly.
He emphasized that by adopting the statement, they will support the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan and call on all interested parties to strengthen and develop the established peace. “We have convened a session of the National Assembly due to this fact,” he said.
In response to the MP’s question, Konjoryan also noted that in the last 1 year and 7 months, not a single soldier has been killed by enemy fire on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border. “This is the biggest obstacle to peace.” According to him, “our task is to turn 1 year and 7 months into 17 years, 50 years, 100 years.”
