In Strasbourg, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan met with the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Michael O’Flaherty.
During the meeting, the reforms implemented in Armenia in the field of human rights protection, steps aimed at strengthening democratic institutions, and the prospects for cooperation between Armenia and the Council of Europe were discussed.
Prime Minister Pashinyan highly appreciated the activities of the Commissioner for Human Rights and emphasized Armenia’s readiness to continue close cooperation with the Council of Europe in the areas of human rights, democracy, and strengthening the rule of law.
Michael O’Flaherty highly appreciated the commitment of the Government of the Republic of Armenia to the field of human rights protection and the consistent steps taken to strengthen democracy, emphasizing that this contributes to the protection of citizens’ fundamental rights and freedoms.
The parties also discussed the possibilities of expanding cooperation, emphasizing the importance of continuous and constructive dialogue between Armenia and the Council of Europe.
